Old Business:
-Treasurer’s Report was given by Al Jowdy:

There is about $4,500 in the treasury going forward. Al gave details of income and expenses.

Through his donations and dues, Mike Asea shipped the equipment for the memorabilia to the reunion at no expense to the Association.

Everyone thanked Al for the work he does as Treasurer.

-Jeff gave some background on some of the details involved in putting on a reunion.

-Mike Asea spoke about the importance of keeping the Association going, perhaps adding members of other ships to join the reunion.

Mike was thanked for the work he does in setting up the ship’s memorabilia at every reunion.

-Janet Veit reported about the Memorial Wreath that is placed at the USS Salt Lake City’s plaque at the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas. She goes every Memorial Day to the ceremonies there.

New Business:
-Jeff brought up doing communications by email now rather than depending solely on postal mail. For anyone not having email, postal mail can still be sent to them.

-Jeff brought up the idea of shortening the reunion by one day. This has been suggested in the past and could now be implemented. He also said that duties of the reunion can be delegated to various members.

-Jeff asked for suggestions for locations for future reunions. They were:

1. Boston - Randy said that Jim Bradford had suggested this location.
2. Philadelphia - Randy gave information on this location.
3. San Francisco - John Jowdy gave information.
4. New Orleans - John Jowdy gave information. 5. Newport, RI - Louise gave information.

Discussion followed. It was suggested that we vote to determine the top two and then research costs and other details to decide on the next location.

Philadelphia and New Orleans were the top two.

Randy will research Philadelphia and John Jowdy will do the same for New Orleans. They will report by email which city is the better of the two for the next reunion.

-Election of President

Jeff asked for nominations. Those nominated were:

Jeff Jowdy
John Jowdy, Jr. Randy Oppenheimer

Randy Oppenheimer was elected.

-Elections for other officers:

Al Jowdy will remain Treasurer
John Jowdy, Jr. will be Vice-President

Other Business:

- It was mentioned that Sandy Eskew is the Ship Historian/Website Curator. She couldn’t attend this reunion, but, hopes to in the future.

-Dawn Freysinger expressed her gratitude that the Association continues to operate and meet.

-Al reminded us that we can pay our 2020 dues now if we’d like to.
